Outdoor Projects :: Inspiration

Today I am working on a project for outside that I am super excited about!  We have a super unfortunate 'old lady' yard that I am dying to change.  But I can't do much until we start remodeling the main level.  I could - I guess - but it runs the risk of getting squashed when we start the renovation.  Contractors aren't exactly delicate.

Until we start I need to do something to make the yard reflect our style.  Last summer we spent almost all of our time outside enjoying the view, the sun, and the acres of grass.  I want to be able to be out there this year - and to love it.

So today I'm starting on a project.  Actually, Mr. Hedin started it yesterday when he cut down the espaliered mystery tree.  Some called it a flowering quince.  Others called it a Hawthorne.  I called it ugly.  I'm happy to report that it is sitting in the yard waste bin.

I went to Mr. Hedin with the idea of this project and had to preface it with "Don't say anything just yet."  So you know it's going to be a kooky one!  My inspiration came from the pages and pages of modern exteriors that I have been pulling and pinning all winter.

I can't wait to show you more...  but for now it's just a teaser of the supplies needed

3 lengths of PVC pipe - two feet long
3 yards yellow sail fabric
4 grommets
4 eight foot lengths of 1 x 2
potting soil
