Good Morning!
How was your weekend? Mine was great. We got the remnants from the tree removal removed. They left all kinds of wood chips from where they ground the stumps out. Then we spent the day yesterday relaxing and letting the kids run. It helped that it was a scorching hot day. Lars ran in the sprinkler and Pearl got to wear a super cute outfit that's been waiting for a warm enough day to wear it. How did you spend the warm summer day?
I've been working on a Peach Cobbler recipe too. No luck so far. It's either too dry, too biscuit-y or too 'crisp' like. I may have found a solution - but I don't know if I can convince anyone in my family to eat more peaches. We've had a lot so far. I'm going to try one with nectarines since they are so closely related to peaches and see if its as good as I keep hoping it will be. If you have any tips please let me know.
This week I have a bunch of Back to School projects to share with you. Can you believe its already that time? It's always been one of my favorite times of the year - possibly because it means my birthday is soon! But I also adore new school supplies, getting organized, and fall clothes.
Just this morning I found a few cool things to share with you too
:: A tray with bottle caps! I haven't thrown away a bottle cap in ages. This may have just made the project list at our house! via Hip Hostess
:: I think if I made this it would be eaten before anyone in my family knew I made it. Are you kidding me? Blueberries and Caramel sauce?? via Sweet Paul
:: I'm loving Girls Gone Child right now. Maybe it's because the baby is out of me and I can finally just find it humorous, or maybe because she is so tiny and carrying around TWO babies. Either way, I love it.
I hope you have a Happy Monday!

If you're looking for a great cobbler recipe try this one out - it's incredibly simple and amazing. Super doughy, not crumbly.

My Great Aunt Lou & my Grandmother made this cobbler, but I never had a written recipe. This is the closest I've found. It's delish with any soft summer fruit (peaches!), especially cherries and berries.
Thanks Meggan! I'm trying that one tonight!
ReplyDeletePearl is so cute! I just found your blog, and love reading it! Thank you for posting!
