Happy Earth Day!

Photo via Sunset Magazine

It's Earth Day today!  There are a lot of things happening around Seattle + some of your favorite shops (at least my favorite shops) are doing some fabulous things to celebrate.

Origins is one of my favorite skin care companies.  They make really nice plant based products and - quite frankly, because they are a part of Estee Lauder - products that work really well.  For Earth Day they are offering a full size version of their famous cleanser in special packaging to anyone who brings in an empty bottle from any other cosmetic company.  They are only while supplies last - so hurry!

PLUS they have a concert featuring Train!  It's live streaming today at 2pm Eastern time right here.  Of all of the random songs on my iPod, Train was playing when I had my little Pearl.  So there's a soft spot in my heart for Train.  In addition to the concert today in NYC, there's also a concert coming up this weekend in Asia. How fun is that?

Kiehl's is another favorite - and home to my current addiction Super Fluid UV Defense.  For Earth Day they are featuring a Limited Edition Label of Rare Earth Deep Pour Cleansing Masque (which works AWESOME!) - not only a limited edition label, but 100% of the net proceeds go to Waterkeeper Alliance.  The blue water inspired labels are designed by Chloe Sevigny and Michael C. Hall and will be a lovely addition to my new bathroom.  Can't wait to pick up both versions!  Pick up your own online here.

I'm still in Hawaii and there is an amazing shop here that I make a pilgrimage to every time called Mu'uMu'u Heaven.  It's an entire shop built around the premise of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" - thus the name, because the entire inventory is recycled mu'umu'us made into modern dresses, handbags, pillows, etc.  They also sell home goods that are just old junk that they make into cool stuff, like old vases turned into candles.
