Kitchen Envy :: Kitchen of the week

Why it works:

- classic designs for the basic pieces (brick floors, white cabinets, stainless appliances)

- coordinated pieces on the shelves in glass and white porcelain = not attention drawing, just accessories, like wearing pearl earrings

- modern chairs around the table update the look where something more traditional would be expected and not very interesting

- wood table in lieu of an island is very country and is in opposition to the modern chairs adding to the interest of the kitchen and adding another layer of design (like wearing a denim jacket with a silk dress)

- black door = perfection, it's the finishing touch on this room. lipstick.
