What a great week we had again! Not only was it the first day of school on Wednesday - but temperatures in Seattle have reached the 80's and this weekend we will be closer to 90! Happy Summer to us!
We had a lot of fun at our house too. The basement is almost completely gutted (hooray!) which means Mr. Hedin starts making phone calls next week to get the rest of the project moving including heated floors (double hooray!). We sat in the kiddie pool and ate blackberry ice cream. And our neighbor brought over a blackberry pie - delish!
Next week is going to be even better as my BIRTHDAY is on Wednesday. In honor of the major day, we'll be having giveaways all week next week featuring - what else - cookbooks!
Here's what else happened here this week
:: We made Blackberry Boy Bait. Call it a cobbler, a grunt, a slump, a cake - I call it Boy Bait. I love the bizarre name and will make it out of every fruit.
:: My first born started three-day-a-week preschool. Which means we are officially in back to school mode for clothes around here. Even Pearl.
:: Since we had so many blackberries, we made Blackberry Ice Cream too. SO GOOD!
:: I found a new favorite cookbook.
