Modern Architecture Inspiration

Our new house is modern-ish.  It was built in 1948 and was probably cutting edge at the time - because it was just a few years before the really cool architecture started happening.  And Seattle missed a lot of the REALLY cool stuff because it's hidden in the weathier enclaves (like the Highlands) where you can't even go ogle it.

I'm loving all of the Palm Springs- heyday- era style of architecture, I'm just not sure we can pull it off...

Lucky for me, my sister is *almost* an architect, so she can start sketching stuff up and give us some thoughts on creating a modern look but not a 'trendy' look.
