The rest of our house has all been remodeled to the same extent as the kitchen. But there aren't especially "before" pictures of this party. Especially the master bedroom/bathroom because that was completely added on about three years ago.
Since the house is staged in these photos I was especially excited to share them. It's what I had hoped our house would look like all of the time. It turns out children come with lots of gear and toys - and Christmas and birthday's don't help. There is a lot of extra stuff at our house now that has (blessedly) moved to the basement playroom at the new house. That room will be cute eventually, but if this weekend is any indication, cleaning up toys is going to become my full time job!
:: The children's room ::
The white rug was in this room when we brought Lars home and then was promptly sent to the cleaners and put in storage. I love the idea of a white rug in here, but it wasn't super practical as it turns out.
When I was nine month's pregnant I painted this for the bedroom to match the Dwell bedding I had picked out. According to a certain three year old, it looks like a bear and I "did a bad job making a tree." Awesome. But it looks really good in this room so as long as he's not sleeping in here then the "tree" is hanging up.
When Lars was an infant the entire room was tones of brown. It was very neutral and calming. But Lars is neither. So when he got a bit older I started to add color, like these banners - the instructions came from Twig & Thistle.
My sister painted this of our first "child" Timber for us to hang in Lars' room. It reflects a lot because the room is actually quite sunny.
:: The Master Bedroom::
When I was pregnant with Lars we decided we needed to add on. So at seven months pregnant we moved out of our tiny bedroom and began to build a new space. The portraits above the bed were featured in Design*Sponge - I need to update them!
Can you believe how sunny this corner is? When we built this space we took advantage of the south light. I love this. I will miss this.
Our hallway. I know this is really dark, but I love the look of the house when all the lights are off and the sun draws you down the space and into the room.
The master bathroom. Doesn't it look like a hotel? That tile was crazy expensive, but I love the look. I hope the next owner appreciates it!
The bathtub is 24 inches deep! I have never been a bath person, but I am in this tub. The kids love it too because splashing isn't a huge issue. And from this angle you can't see that the tub is full of toys.
My vanity was built into the hallway cabinets. It's lovely. The cabinets as a whole are lovely. I designed them to hold our clothing that folds so we can avoid the need for a dresser.

Your house is so cute! I live on the eastside, and I'm so wishing that my husband and I were prepared to buy a house right now. I'm guessing that this one will sell quickly!
