How to stay warm

This weekend Mr. Hedin and I went to Whistler for three whole days without children.  It was lovely.  The best part (outside of my massage and getting a ton of exciting projects done) was the gear I had to wear!  I am extremely fortunate to be sent product to "try" with the hope that it will appear in the magazine at some point.

This weekend I took a ton of clothes and ended up wearing my new Sierra Designs Gnar Hoody Jacket and a pair of Sorel boots.  I was never cold.  And it was cold out.  Everyone else kept complaining that they were cold - or they kept adding more layers.  I was in a thin cotton sweater the first night with the jacket over top and I was perfectly content.  It was lovely to not be cold.  I am usually quite cold in these sorts of situations.  (see picture above - uniform = Gnar jacket, jeans, cashmere scarf, and fur headband)

Keeping my feet warm is a challenge as well - actually a bigger challenge than keeping the rest of me warm.  So I brought everything from Uggs to cowboy boots to Sorels.  The Sorels were awesome.  They don't seem to make my style anymore, but these are pretty close.  They are lined with thinsulate.  So rather than the bulky old school Sorels, these are much more streamlined.  Plus waterproof, so there were no issues stomping around Whister.

I was so ecstatic to be warm and comfortable the entire weekend - and cute!  It's certainly one thing to be warm but to look presentable and still be warm is an entirely different feat.  I didn't have a good pair of gloves however - only fingerless, which means you have cold fingers.  I'm on a hunt now for darling gloves that actually work.  And since the season is rapidly coming to a close, I may luck out and find them on sale!

I now have a new Sorel wish list for next winter...  this could be trouble!

I am so grateful to Sorel and Sierra Designs for their generous gifts - they were entirely indispensable this weekend!
