Lars meeting Baby Pearl
But #3 poses an entire list of new dilemmas like ::
What do I wear? Maternity styles haven't changed since I was pregnant with #2 - it hasn't been very long. But I still have to take pictures for the magazine, for the next book (hooray!) and I have TV apperances to consider. As much as people say "I love a pregnant lady." There is a limit to the number of chins one wants to see - and a limit to how often you can wear the same sweatpants. I tested that limit when I was pregnant with #2. Turns out, you can own several pairs of the same pants and people see them all as the same pair. My mantra became "But these are CLEAN ones."
Luckily, other people face the same problems:

When do I nap? With #1 I was working full time in the corporate world. But I could 'tune out' for an hour or so a day and it wasn't entirely noticed. Don't tell anyone I used to work with. With #2 I could nap when #1 napped- and he was an amazing napper. He slept 4-5 hours a day during the day + full nights. I had plenty of time to work and nap. But now, I am constantly in the 'nap trap' - otherwise known as one child is always napping when the other is not. So I have one child awake that needs to be fed or played with all day long. Naps don't fit in. But exhaustion from a teething baby and a chatty three year old continues. There appears to be no solution for this. Push on through.
What do I eat? I'm starving. When I was pregnant with #2 I was still doing CrossFit regularly (best thing EVER!) but I hadn't gotten back into it yet when I found out I was pregnant again. With CrossFit I could eat anything and everything because I was burning so many calories. Plus I had a protein shake everyday. My current workout plan is chasing two children. Any celebrity who tells you that's how they keep in shape is a BIG FAT LIAR. Chasing children has not caused any kind of weight loss or muscle development. I have to choose my meals carefully to have enough protein that I'm not starving an hour later - and enough veggies and fruit to fill me up the right way. It's exhausting to think so much. And did I already mention I'm exhausted anyway?
Luckily, pears are delicious right now - as are oranges and grapefruit. Winter greens, like kale, are chock full of vitamins and are also at their peak. I also find myself eating a lot of eggs. They are a terrific protein and low in fat and calories. Topped with salsa and a little cheese... yum.
We will find out what we are having, so stay tuned. I promise it won't be all pregnancy posts but if something exciting happens I will be sure to update you. And I am sure you will notice that my belly is growing in pictures.
Can't wait to share more with you! And soon you'll have the adventures of a completely crazy mother of three!

So exciting, congratulations!
